Where do the scrip certificates come from?

GLSC purchases the certificates directly from the retailers. The certificates we provide to our coordinators are the same gift certificates you would buy if you went to the participating retailer and purchased them yourself

Can I use the scrip certificates anywhere?

Yes, the certificates are accepted at all participating retailer locations.

Does it cost anything to open an account? 

No. There is no cost, and no obligation to buy anything. 

Is there a minimum amount of certificates that I have to order?

There is no minimum order amount. 

Do I have to order every week? How often can I order? 

There are no requirements for ordering. You can order as frequently or infrequently as you wish. 

Does GLSC ever run out of certificates? What happens then? 

Occasionally, Great Lakes Scrip Center may temporarily run out of a particular certificate. When that happens, we will place the item on backorder and ship it with your next order. 

Does it cost a family anything to participate? Do they have to sell anything? 

There are no membership fees or application fees.  The beauty of the scrip concept lies in the fact that you raise money by using your existing household shopping budget. Some families may enlist relatives, friends and neighbors to buy scrip. But unlike other fundraising programs, scrip families do not have to "sell" anything to raise money for their organization.

Can I use scrip to pay department store charge account balances?

A few retailers allow you to pay charge account balances with scrip, but generally speaking, most do not.

Can I pay by check? 

Yes, you can pay by check. However, your order will not be processed until payment is received.
